Two perspectives on the same challenge
AI governance and AI-powered automation are often discussed separately. In practice, they are closely connected.
Organisations need to understand where AI is already being used, which data and systems it can access, and how policies can be translated into effective controls.
At the same time, AI agents are increasingly able to execute operational tasks and make decisions at machine speed. This creates new opportunities, but also raises important questions around permissions, accountability, resilience and human oversight.
Governing AI without stopping innovation
Employees and business teams are adopting AI faster than many organisations can formally assess or approve it.
Together with AIBound, we will explore how organisations can gain visibility into approved and unapproved AI usage, understand the associated risks and move from static policies towards practical, enforceable governance.
The discussion will address questions such as:
- How much AI is already being used outside officially approved processes?
- Which applications and use cases should be permitted, restricted or blocked?
- How can organisations protect sensitive data without preventing valuable innovation?
- How can management and boards gain meaningful transparency into AI-related risks?
The goal is not to create another policy document. It is to understand how AI governance can become part of day-to-day operations.
Automating at scale without losing control
AI agents and automated workflows can reduce manual work, accelerate response times and transform security and IT operations.
However, automation also changes the nature of operational risk. An agent may be able to disable an account, change a configuration, isolate a system or initiate a response within seconds.
Together with BlinkOps, we will explore how organisations can introduce AI-powered automation while retaining appropriate control.
The discussion will include questions such as:
- Which decisions should an AI agent be allowed to make independently?
- When must a human remain part of the approval process?
- How can organisations limit the potential impact of an incorrect or manipulated action?
- How should permissions, credentials and access to critical systems be controlled?
- How can automated decisions remain auditable and, where possible, reversible?
The goal is not to choose between manual processes and unrestricted automation. It is to create automation that is fast, controlled and resilient.
What to expect
This is not a traditional vendor event.
We are inviting a small group of CIOs, CISOs and Technology Leaders to exchange experiences, challenge assumptions and discuss practical approaches to AI governance and automation.
The morning will combine expert perspectives, moderated executive discussion, real-world scenarios and direct peer exchange.
The conversation will be moderated by Andreas Wuchner. Niall Browne, CEO of AIBound and former CISO of Palo Alto Networks and Workday, will contribute his experience from leading global security organisations and advising executive teams on AI governance, risk and resilience.
There will be no long product presentations and no expectation that participants have already solved these challenges.
